Sieve Bends and Hillside Screens



These screens consist of simple static wedgewire or woven wire screens with either a gravity fed from a head box or pressure feed. They are usually self cleaning but can be fitted with optional sprays and cleaning brushes. Features of our design include special angles for certain feeds. Rejects are usually not as concentrated as from a rotary or vibrating screen.

SUITABILITY

Coarse filtration with gravity feed (0.45mm to 2mm):
  • Pulp and paper: 0.45-2mm thickening and fractionation, wastewater treatment
  • Food processing: 1-2 mm primary wastewater treatment
  • Abattoirs and other meat processing: 1-2 mm (usually with cleaning equipment), primary wastewater treatment.
  • Piggeries, aquaculture, feed lots: 0.5-2mm primary wastewater treatment
  • Textile industries, dyehouses and laundries: 0.75-2mm fibre recovery and primary wastewater treatment.

Fine filtration with pressure feed (0.05-0.30 mm):

  • Pulp and paper: 0.1-0.2 mm fibre recovery and primary wastewater treatment
  • Corn starch mills: 0.05-0.10 mm separation of corn starch
